You can also visit Historic South Coventry Village, where buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries still stand. For food, stop by Woke Breakfast for an early morning treat or Bidwell Tavern, known for its wings. The quiet streets offer a welcoming atmosphere and a relaxing day out in town.

Overall, Coventry has a great mix of history, outdoor activities and small-town charm. Whether you want to shop for fresh local goods, learn local history or just relax by the water, you’ll find a reason to stay. Since it’s only minutes from campus, it’s an easy trip you’ll probably want to make more than once.

Brandon Lake Concert

Brandon Lake performed in Bridgeport, Connecticut on March 14 as part of his “King of Hearts” Tour. He combined worship music with uplifting messages throughout the night. The event included a combination of covers from other Christian artists, spoken moments, and performances of some of his most popular songs, like “Gratitude” and “That’s Who I Praise.”

One of the best parts of the experience was the light-up wristbands handed out to people as they walked through the door. They were synced to the music and would light up with different colors during each song. Lake later described the atmosphere as feeling like a “family.” One attendee shared that the event “impacted her greatly” and that she “felt the Holy Spirit in the room, it's a night I will never forget.”

Throughout the night, Lake spoke a lot about faith, identity, and purpose. He referenced the Biblical story of a woman known as “the woman with the issue of blood,” emphasizing how important it is not to define people by labels. He additionally encouraged the crowd by saying, “No matter what place in life you're at right now, God is not done with you yet.”

Building on his message, he also spoke about faith and expectation, and said “expectancy is the breeding ground for miracles,” and “when we get to heaven, and I pray you go, worship is gonna be easy because you're gonna be singing a perfect song before a perfect God. There will be no tears, there will be no fear.” He also spoke directly to younger attendees, saying Generation Z faces the most challenges but also carries a strong sense of purpose.
